Upcycled Update 1/29/24
Current events in the upcycling world, in under a minute! + The perfect Valentine's Day plans (with us, of course!)
This is a video series done on our TikTok & Instagram, but wanted to share it here as well!
If you’re new here:
We define upcycling as creatively repurposing something that was going to be thrown away, into something new and often elevated.
If you’re familiar, welcome back, let’s get into it!
Miss Thailand wore an evening gown made from soda tabs, a nod to her parents who were garbage collectors.
If you’re a New Yorker: LISTEN UP! New York passed a law where digital companies, think Apple, have to make parts, tools, and guides needed to repair their digital devices readily available.
This is the first of it’s kind and part of a larger wave in the “Right to Repair” movement.
Lastly, KidSuper walked unraveling knitwear down the runway of his latest fashion show. We LOVE the showcasing of the yarn that goes into knitwear.
NOT ALL KNITWEAR CAN DO THIS, but if you want to learn which and how, join us Friday Feb 9th at The Butterfly Club to learn!
The evening will start with an informal and informative panel on yarn, then the knitwear & yarn swap will begin. You can use something you brought or got from the swap to learn how to unravel; then, with that yarn crochet and/or knitting workshops will begin! CLICK IMAGE BELOW TO SIGN UP!
Treats from Renewall Mill and tea provided, but BYOB! A Reclypt team member may or may not be bringing some Capri Sun to sip on, while I’ll most likely bring my newest obsession: Miller High Life with a *splash* of Aperol.
All skill levels (or lack their of) invited! Come for the yarn, stay for the hang!
